A lot of webmasters are now coming to the realization that having a wordpress blog associated with their website, can greatly enhance their website’s ranking and search engine visibility. Updating a blog is by far much easier than creating static/dynamic pages on a website. With inbuilt ‘ping’ functions, you can immediately submit your blog-post to multiple search index listings. For instance when I write a Blog article, 5 minutes later it appears on Google.
This is a little digression but, when the announcement was made that Sarah Palin will be John McCain’s running mate and that her daughter Bristol Palin is pregnant with her second child, my blog post was ranked #1 on Google’s search index for 3-4 days. Which meant my traffic sky rocketed and so did my earnings. Aside from having Google adsense, I also incorporated plenty of affiliate ads and thanks to the Mother Daughter Palin controversy, I got to make some money.
Now, ever since I included wordpress blog to my website (Sorry, I am not going to mention the name of my website for now), I have also noticed that my adsense eCPM has gone up dramatically. Which means, that, now my website is given a ‘value’ by google. It is not considered just a junk website with some random content and millions of hits/month… but now Google realizes that it is a valuable website, with serious content, serious visibility.. and hence the Google ads that are displayed on my website, are over 0.20 cents/ click.
Okay… back to the main theme of this entry.
When and Why you should sell your Blog: If you have established a niche in the blogospher but now you have a lot of other obligations, than do not let your ranking drop because you cannot keep your blog updated. Do not let your blog fade away in time. SELL IT !. I am sure a lot of new bloggers would like to take over a business that is already established. Although I have noticed that now adays every other new blogger writes about MAKE MONEY ONLINE .. but honestly, there are so many heavy weights out there in the world of MAKE MONEY ONLINE that no one cares any more…and the new blogger gives up when there is no traffic. So which means, if you intend to REALLY MAKE MONEY, than don’t just start from ZERO and talk about something you may not know as much as the heavy weights know…. simply buy a well established blog and make it bigger and better.
For instance, linkbuildingbible.com was established ONLY in 2006 or 2007. But Adam spent a lot of time, writing great articles and posting lots of links related to Search Engine Optimization. He had lots of back-links and lots of quality references from other blogs. Now, Lisa Ann, of Inline SEO simply bought Adam’s blog and all those articles, back links, entries would be part of her INLINESEO.com. I think this was a great move by Lisa and in the competitive world of SEO, she will soon pose a serious threat by attracting a lot of business by getting traffic through search engines looking for a SEO specialist…all thanks to a well established blog with quality content.
So if you think that you cannot cope up with keeping your blog updated at all times, and you have run out of ideas, put it on sale. Perhaps someone out there can buy it. You get your money for establishing the blog and the new owner can keep your blog active and generate some revenue..

I agree with you 100% that having a blog associated with one’s main website can greatly help with the ranking. I used to have a ebay store through BANS and I never had enough traffic so I incorporated a blog with my BAN store and immediately the traffic picked up. I also look around for good blogs to buy. I think the future of SEO is greatly tied to blogs and review systems.
I read your post via my RSS and immediately thought that i should come here and give you a kudos for a great entry !
